Valentine's Theme Ideas

You voted, and the results are in for my Girl's Night Valentine's Day themed party!!  It was REALLY close at the last minute between "Chocolate" and "Glitz and Glamour"!  But ultimately, CHOCOLATE is the winner! Queen of Hearts was in a close third, and Red Hot was in fourth.  Maybe I should just have a party with each theme each month.  Why the heck not.

So CHOCOLATE it is!!!  I was going to call it "Death by Chocolate" - but I don't like the idea of the word "death" appearing in the name of an event.  So it's still just a "Girls Night In."  I have a lot of budget-friendly ideas and am going to keep the whole thing under $100 (or hopefully less...it's not like it's my kids birthday or anything.)  Thinking more about it, who says the color scheme has to be just plain light pink and dark brown??  I went to Adobe Kuler and made these swatches for the other themes in case you guys wanted to have your OWN party!

(My Theme)  Chocolate!

Dark chocolate, pink frosting, milk chocolate, raspberry truffle, and whipped cream... sound delectable?  It's not the menu, it's the color scheme!!!  Thanks Rachelle!  Actually, the menu will include items from Tastefully Simple as well as a ridiculously large amount of chocolate themed desserts!

Glitz and Glamour

Bling it out with hot and light pinks, glitterati silver, clear diamond, chic black, and sparkle, sparkle, sparkle!  Get silver glitter to adorn the tables, mini fake plastic diamonds...  I am giving out gift bags full of sample-sized products from mark.  So see - I AM sort of doing a glitzy theme!

Queen of Hearts

Bring a royal flair to the party with red roses and tiaras!  Use playing cards as invitations or decorations and play wonky croquet for prizes!  Thanks Heather!

Red Hot

Serve a plethora of spicy foods to tingle the tastebuds!  From salsa to jalapeno poppers, to cinnamon cupcakes and cinnabears!  Thanks Ashley!

I'm so excited to go shopping for everything I need!  Woo!  Any tips on some awesome things I can make for the Chocolate theme?  I'm thinking a chocolate fondue pot of course, pink lemonade or punch, hot chocolate, dipped strawberries, cupcakes (of course)...what else?

12 really, really, ridiculously good looking comments:

Love ALL the colour schemes and your ideas.
Surely you'll have to have some Hershey's Kisses?
Heart shaped red coloured ice shapes?
Hope you're going to post some pics.

You must do chocolate fondue - you can have mini rice krispy treats, pound cake, bananas, strawberries, graham crackers, and whatever else you like to dip into it - YUMMY!!!!

These are to 'die' for! I should share this on my blog one day!! Pretzels (the roundy kind) ;) a few packages of Rolos and either pecans or cashews ... I love them both! Preheat oven to 325? place pretzels all over a cookie sheet, balance nuts on pretzels, balance a rolo on the nuts, on the pretzel... ;) carefully place in oven and watch until chocolate is just melted so...Magic! Home made turtles!
I am too tired to be here! happy weekending!

...a chocolate menu: how about chocolate cups (paint cup cake liner w/chocolate, let dry, peel) fill with a chocolate mousse w/chocolate shavings and a rasp. on top??

I have a yummy chocolate bread pudding recipe I did w/ TWD (on my blog), you could do individual ramekins of that?

Chocolate milk (small sized glasses)all prettied up w/whipped cream, shavings??
