So I have this great blog friend
(and client - I did her blog design!) and randomly she says that she's sending me a present. A present?? WHAT? My husband doesn't even get me presents on major holidays...and he knows me in REAL life.
Basically, she read how I was trying to conceive and wanted to send me a gift. I was a little worried...was she going to send me a pack of onesies? Some diapers? *thinking baby shower gifts* I'm not even preggo and she wants to send me something BABY? I was excited, and nervous.
So I open the package and out pops this adorable necklace!
It looked like a really pretty, smooth stone on a long string. When I go to touch it however it feels rubbery and squishy!!! She then informed me that it's also a TEETHING RING! I was totally blown away! What a freaking cool idea!
Here's the website if you want to check it out.
Smart Mom Jewelry. Apparently I'm out of the loop because even Big from SitC, Tori Spelling, and everyone else (besides me, and I'm hoping YOU) know about these.

On a separate note - I made pumpkin walnut cookies and they were AWESOME! *drools* Here are some pics of the adventure.
Mixin' the dough...
Spoon it on the sheet...
Eat a little when no one's looking...
Put it in the oven...
Take picture of cat while waiting....
Rethink the amount of baking powder used when cookies come out looking like this...
Still enjoy and eat at least 3 for breakfast the next day...
Here's the "recipe"...didn't actually have one, I just threw together a bunch of stuff and they turned out amazingly good! (Like THAT will ever happen again...) They aren't too sweet, and they have walnuts in them...so I'm calling them...(and yes you can steal this as long as you say I invented it. Because I did. And I want credit.) Pumpkin Breakfast Cookies
1/2 cup salted margarine
1 and a 1/2 cups of packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1 teaspoon nutmeg
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon ground ginger
2 teaspoons or more of cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt (you can also use 2 tsp vanilla, but I didn't have any...)
1 heaping spray of canned whipped topping (optional unless you're me - who adds whipped topping to everything for good measure.)
1 handful of Splenda
2-3 cups of flour
1-2 cups chopped walnuts
Cream together margarine and brown sugar. Add eggs, vanilla/salt, whipped topping and mix well. In a separate bowl, mix flour baking powder, Splenda, spices, and salt. Mix dry and wet ingredients until well blended. Mixture will be more runny/sticky than traditional cookies. Add walnuts. Spoon onto greased baking sheet. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes or so each or until the bottoms and peaks are slightly browned. (Should cookies have peaks? Not sure...but these do.)
11 really, really, ridiculously good looking comments:
You are so freakin' cute! My favorite posts are ones where you post pictures of yourself. I hope that's not creepy... Oh well.
I want a teething necklace! Actually, I've really been wanting a baltic amber teething necklace for my daughter. When I was researching these the other day, I actually saw that some people sell fertility necklaces too, which instead of the amber, would be made of stones that are supposed to support reproductive health and such...well, I don't remember much of the specifics, but maybe it's worth researching and trying? If nothing else, it's pretty!
A teething ring on a necklace? That IS brilliant. Congrats on the cookies. ;)
I love that necklace! Abby is always trying to pull and/or chew on my necklace so maybe I need to look into investing in one of those things!
You are so cute, btw! And those cookies look delicious! Too bad I'm allergic or I would be stealing that recipe!
