Yay Nature! (Hike Photos!)

For the first time in FOR.EV.ER I actually went outside. And I didn't just walk to my car either. I went on a NATURE HIKE! I even brought (carb filled..mmm) trail mix and a granola bar to commemorate the event. Kenzie and Colton (14 year old niece, 10 year old nephew) and I headed out Saturday at around noon. It was warm and cloudy, so perfect for those who wish to keep their radiant wrinkle-free faces out of the sun. Ha. I had a backpack (okay, teeny sinch sak) that carried our food and water. Didn't bring a compass. Or a knife. Or a lighter. Or bug spray for that matter. But dag nabbit we brought food.

We hiked alone for about an hour, and randomly the trail came to a somewhat surprising end. So on our way back we decided to go to the ZOO! (Because one hour of adventure just isn't enough.) Not gonna lie - the zoo was a little disappointing. They had like...geese. And goats. And bears. Stuff we could have seen on our nature walk anyway! We live in Idaho! (Emphasize - SEEN. Not been anywhere NEAR as we were at a safe, paved, long distance away from any wild animals. Aside from West-Nile infected Mosquito. (Again, my parenting skills at their best...no bug spray.)

Here are some pics from the day! (Bubba was at work...boo...so just me and kiddos.) I'm brave for posting this by the way...nature walks = no makeup. I never realized how many effing wrinkles I've developed at just 24 years old. Waaah. Seriously though, this was a MUCH needed escape from staring at a computer screen all day long.














Yay! It was so fun! I can't wait to be all "outdoorsy" again. Hee, hee.
